Bio[]
Patriot is a large tender engine from The Mainland. He and his brother, Sigmund were early experiments of their class, testing new parts and seeing if the design worked. In the early days of Sodor, Patriot brought some tourists to Kirk Ronan Harbour to catch a ferry. While waiting for the return journey, Patriot was unable to keep steam up. Adam, who had been borrowed from the Wellsworth and Suddery Railway, offered to take the train for him. Patriot was rude and made fun of Adam for his size and shape, but was rather impressed when Adam proved himself by pulling the train out of the station. Sadly, Adam crashed while taking the train. When news reached the harbour, Patriot knew he was to blame and felt awful. Once the accident was cleared up, Patriot brought the rest of the train home, a more humbled engine. Over the years, Patriot continued working on the mainland. He was kind but did find himself agitated when he was told he was wrong about things. He often brought trains to and from London. One of these trips once again brought him to Sodor where he, Gordon and Duck, argued about the station names in London. But when he was coming out of the yard to collect his train, he derailed and Gordon took the train on to London. Since then, Patriot often keeps to himself, preferring his time alone and away from others. It is, however, not uncommon to see him looking up at the night sky and talking to his lost brother. Who he knows is keeping a watchful eye on him.

Trivia[]
- Due to lack of research in the early days of the series, Patriot is used in The Story of Adam nearly 40 years before his basis was actually built. The in-universe reason is he and his brother, Sigmund were experiments of the class to see if they could work.
