Jinty's Twin Trouble is the sixth episode of Season 2 of Thomas: The Trainz Adventures and the sixteenth episode overall.
Plot[]
As Sodor is busy, no other branch line is busier then the Wellsworth one, and particularly Edward. With BoCo allocated to passenger duties and Donald and Douglas helping out at the Little Western, work at the clay pits become much more for Bill and Ben.
One day, as the twins are playing with some trucks, Timothy arrives to usher them back to the work, but derails on some clay on the tracks, damaging his side rods in the process. Edward has a stern word with them as Timothy is taken to the works. With Timothy out of action, the Fat Controller searches for a temporary engine to help out at the pits.
Salty and Porter get the honour to meet the new engine when he arrive at the docks by mistake. He introduces himself as Jinty and explains that he’s to help out at the pits. Porter tells him the directions before he cheerfully departs again.
Marion greets him upon his arrival and soon introduces him to the twins. As Jinty is a larger kind of tank engine, he can pull more trucks then Bill and Ben, even impressing Cranky.
Bill and Ben decide to play a trick on him, and has Jinty pull a train that isn’t fully prepared. Marion advises him to ignore the twins’ tricks and finishes loading the train before clearing Jinty for departure.
The next day, Jinty is having a rest when the twins decide to trick him again. They push a truck towards him, but a workman manages to switch the points just in time, diverting the truck onto the adjacent siding. It goes through the buffers and hits the rocks, causing a mudslide. As the workmen evacuate, Bill and Ben’s crews join in, stranding the two engines. Jinty comes to their rescue and narrowly saves them from being hit by a falling tower. Afterwards, they, together with Marion clear up the mess and take the next train to Brendam, earlier then originally scheduled.
At the docks, Cranky and Salty begin to worry just as the cavalcade arrive. The Fat Controller arrives and praises Jinty’s efforts, and allocates Bill and Ben to take the Flying Kipper as punishment for causing the mudslide. As Jinty prepares to head home since Timothy is now repaired, the others assure him that he’s always welcome on Sodor.
A blooper reel after the credits show Jinty laughing, uncertain of how long it’s meant to last for said take.
