Henry Sees Red is the second episode of Season 2 of Thomas: The Trainz Adventures and the twelfth episode overall.
Plot[]
A different kind of coal has been allocated to the island of Sodor, one that causes more black smoke when steaming out of the engines’ funnels.
Henry wakes up feeling awful as an affect of the coal, and the Fat Controller decides to send him to get an overhaul at Crovan’s Gate. Henry takes the express there with James. However, once they reach Wellsworth, a part breaks off Henry. James shunts him into a siding and takes the express on by himself. Geoff, the works diesel, later arrives to take Henry to the works.
Henry waits at the works for a long time, before the workmen finally get down to giving him the overhaul. After he wakes up sometime later, he is surprised to see them coming over with buckets of red paint. They cheerfully explain that the red paint is for his undercoat.
After another rest, Henry is awoken by his driver, who explains that they have been assigned to take the some coaches after Bear has broken down. Henry feels reluctant to do take the train due to his undercoat, but his driver insists. They depart Crovan’s Gate and return to Knapford to pick up the coaches.
Henry still feels embarrassed about his undercoat as he gets underway. As he reaches Wellsworth, the brakes on the rear coach slip on. As Donald is unavailable to help him, Henry shunts the coach in a siding himself before continuing on. Donald being unavailable also means that he has to make it up Gordon’s Hill by himself, which he successfully does after his driver encourages him on. Henry forgets about his undercoat and triumphantly takes the train on all the way to Barrow-in-Furness. The Fat Controller climbs of the train and praises him for his work.
Henry is soon repainted into his green coat and returns to the sheds, where the other engines greet him with cheerful whistling.
